Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort

Chances are you’ve heard of the Hilton Hawaiian Village even if you’ve never been to the islands. This vast resort - conceived of and constructed by industrialist Henry J. Kaiser in the mid-1950s - serves as something of a a state symbol, and has appeared in numerous films and television shows, including Blue Hawai’i, Godzilla, Magnum PI and Hawai’i Five-0.

Built as a self contained resort, today the Hilton Hawaiian Village boasts more than 2800 guest rooms and suites across five towers, along with a diverse selection of restaurants, cafes and bars, more than eighty retail outlets, Friday night fireworks and probably the best pools and water slides on O’ahu.

The five towers each offer spacious accommodation, modern amenities and views of the resort, the coastline or the Pacific Ocean. Whilst many guests opt for the iconic Rainbow Tower with its recently renovated rooms, panoramic vistas and enviable beachfront location giving easy access to restaurants, bars and pools, others prefer the exclusivity of the Ali’i Tower with its private pool and dedicated check-in desk / concierge service, or the Kalia Tower for its adult-only pool and easy access to event venues. And there’s also the Diamond Head Tower with its ground floor business center and the centrally-situated Tapa Tower to consider…!

Stylishly appointed, signature suites with luxurious furnishings and spectacular views offer guests an elevated experience in each of the towers, with the Ali’i Oceanfront Presidential Suite - Elvis Presley’s accommodation of choice on the island - perhaps chief amongst these.

And if you thought choosing a room here was a challenge, try deciding on where to eat, with sixteen different restaurants serving up a mix of exquisite international and Hawaiian flavors in idyllic tropical surroundings. Explore chef-driven island cuisine from locally-sourced ingredients at Bali Oceanfront, classic comfort food with a twist at Tropics Bar & Grill or steak and seafood delicacies at Aoki Teppanyaki. From chicken wings to wood-fired pizza, smash burgers to sushi, casual eats to fine-dining and cocktails at the beachside, Hilton Hawaiian Village has it all, and then some!

There’s also a couple of Starbucks on site, a popular patisserie and - one of our all-time favorites - Lappert’s Ice Cream shop - serving super-sized scoops of gourmet Hawaiian ice cream in an array of mouthwatering flavors, plus coffees, shakes and baked goods you’ll find impossible to resist.

Outside of its wide ranging accommodation and dining options, one of the resort’s major pull factors is its five pools. From the aptly named 10,000 square foot Super Pool to the fun and thrills of the Paradise (Pool) and tranquil seclusion of the Ali’i (Pool), the sparkling waters of Hilton Hawaiian Village offer the perfect place to swim, relax and play. Not forgetting Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon (a five-acre saltwater lagoon named for the legendary Olympic swimmer and father of surfing) and adjacent stretch of beach which offers the ideal location to practice paddle board yoga or take a surf lesson!

In a prime beachfront location convenient for exploring Waikiki, Honolulu and the rest of O’ahu, Hilton Hawaiian Village is a popular choice with families, friend groups, couples and even single travelers. Set amongst lush tropical gardens, the resort’s appeal is its sense of self-enclosure; an oasis of escape from the ordinary, with attentive service, carefully considered extras and everything on hand to help you make the most of your stay. Given the number and range of facilities here, it’s not inconceivable that guests could enjoy a two-week vacation at Hilton Hawaiian Village without ever leaving the resort…!
