Beach House by Roy Yamaguchi

One of a number of restaurants at the luxurious Ritz-Carlton O’ahu, Turtle Bay, Beach House by Roy Yamaguchi is famed for its innovative fusion dishes, fresh seafood and celebrity chef owner (who hosted six seasons of PBS series Hawaii Cooks, and even featured in two episodes of Magnum PI!). With ingredients sourced primarily from local farmers and fisherman, and a menu that utilizes the catch of the day whenever possible, the restaurant prides itself on delivering the very best Hawai’i-inspired Euro-Asian cuisine in a laid back, convivial environment.Literally steps from the sand, Beach House could not be more appropriately named. The 140 cover open-air restaurant, with incredible views of the Pacific Ocean, offers up a unique blend of top-tier dining, impeccable service and a casual island vibe that together translates into an unforgettable experience.

Serving lunch daily from 11:30 - 14:30 and dinner from 16:30 - 21:00, with the bar remaining open between service for drinks and snacks, the menus reflect both the creative flair of the chefs and the bounteous ingredients of the Hawaiian islands. They include all of the classic dishes you’d expect on the North Shore - poke bowls, tacos, gourmet burgers, etc - as well as some of Yamaguchi’s signature preparations and a few surprises. Amongst our favorite items from the casual lunch menu are the Fish Tacos, the Kalua Pork Sandwich and the Lobster & Crab Mac and Cheese (also available in the evening). And we’d recommend the Hurricane Fries at any time of day!

The more comprehensive dinner menu offers a variety of appetizers and a good choice of sushi, along with an impressive list of entrées from sea and shore. Fish lovers are spoilt for choice with the Misoyaki Deepwater Black Cod, Seared Ahi and Chilean Seabass amongst the dishes on offer. Likewise, those craving a meat feast can indulge in a number of mouthwatering cuts such as the 16oz Grilled Ribeye or 12oz Australian Wagyu Striploin. And the fun doesn’t stop there! The dessert course offers a range of signature and speciality sweets you’ll find hard to resist. Our favorites are the Warm Banana Bread and Coconut Sorbet and the Caramelized Pineapple Butter Rum Cake, but whatever you order you’re sure not to be disappointed. There’s also a dedicated Keiki menu and a four course prix fixe dinner option with vegan alternative.

Additionally, the restaurant’s list of wines and cocktails both aim to deliver the same variety and flexibility as the food menu, with friendly, knowledgeable staff happy to make recommendations and or / take requests.

Opened in 2016, the Beach House has proved a popular addition to Yamaguchi’s portfolio, which currently comprises more than thirty restaurants worldwide, including six on O’ahu, four on Maui and one each on Kaua’i and the Big Island. Common to all is the notion that the guest is king; nothing is too much trouble here and the team will readily apply all of their skills and a healthy dose of aloha to ensure everyone who visits enjoys a truly great dining experience…
