An integral part of the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai’s acclaimed culinary program, NOIO offers guests an immersive Japanese fine-dining experience. The restaurant’s exquisitely-crafted cuisine, sophisticated ambiance and breathtaking panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean have quickly helped to establish it as one of the Big Island’s premier dining destinations.

Described as a sushi lounge and omakase restaurant, NOIO presents diners with a choice between a traditional à la carte menu utilizing the finest ingredients from Hawaiʻi and Japan, and a nightly chef-selected tasting card served at an intimate twelve-seat counter. In line with the principles of its parent resort, freshness and sustainability are hallmarks of the chef’s celebrated cuisine, likewise meticulous attention to detail and immaculate visual presentation. Signature dishes here include Whole Fish Two Ways (sashimi with coconut fish sauce, shrimp oil), Black Cod Dolce (maple butter, ginger chili, Hokkaido uni), Shore Salad (ocean seaweed, sea grapes, sesame kombu dust, ponzu, limu) and Seared Kanpachi Bozushi (dried kelp, pickled daikon, caviar, nori sheets, chives).

Perhaps unusually for a sushi restaurant, NOIO’s dessert menu is as renowned as its fresh fish and seafood specialities, with puddings such as Matcha Namelaka and the Seasonal House-crafted Wagashi (traditional intricately-designed Japanese sweets) most definitely worth leaving room for! Additionally, the drinks menu includes a host of hand-crafted cocktails and a wide selection of sake, along with Japanese and Hawaiian beers.

Opened initially to guests of the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai in December 2024, and to the general public in January 2025, NOIO has proved a popular addition to the the developing food scene on the Kona coast. Like at its more established sibling ‘Ulu, the winning combination of culinary excellence, attentive service and a stunning oceanside location have fast made NOIO a favorite with both resort guests and those staying elsewhere on the island.
